In its first year of operation, the company achieved an impressive turnover of €15 million, quickly becoming the third-largest sports retailer in Estonia. This significant achievement underscores the brand’s strong presence and the high demand for its products in the region.

Decathlon is also contributing to the local economy by employing an average of 60 teammates, with the number fluctuating seasonally. This team of passionate sports lovers is at the heart of Decathlon’s customer service experience, ensuring that shoppers receive personalized advice and support.

Founded in 1976 in Englos, in the north of France, Decathlon has grown into one of the world’s leading sports retailers and manufacturers, catering to both beginners and high-performance athletes alike. With a global workforce of more than 101,000 teammates, Decathlon operates 1,749 stores in 78 territories, providing innovative sporting goods across a wide range of disciplines.

In 2023, Decathlon reported impressive financial results, including a global turnover of €15.6 billion and a net profit of €931 million. Remarkably, 93% of Decathlon’s employees are proud to work for the company, with 56,119 teammates owning shares in the company—representing 56% of the workforce.

The Decathlon Foundation continues to support local communities, with 118 new projects launched in 2023, benefiting 45,000 people across 22 countries.
