Renowned for its Gastronomy and Art de Vivre, Mougins, garden city and balcony of the Côte d’Azur, offers those who make the detour a horizon like no other: Cannes and the Lérins Islands, Grasse and its perfumes, Théoule and its Estérel.City of Art and Culture, the greatest have left their mark here: Fernand Léger, Jean Cocteau, Yves Saint Laurent, Winston Churchill, Edith Piaf, Catherine Deneuve… and above all the illustrious Picasso, who spent the last 12 years of his life here.
Since 2006, the town has organized the “Les étoiles de Mougins” gastronomic festival in September.
The organizers of the festival came to Estonia at the beginning of December and shared gastronomic events in which CAdFE took part as a partner: on December 5, a tasting of niche products including wine, spirits and delicatessen brands, and to orchestrate the tasting among some twenty professionals – chefs, sommeliers, bartenders and importers – and influencers met at the Residence of the French Embassy in Tallinn.
The following day, an exceptional gala dinner of Franco-Estonian flavors was held in Tartu at the Lydia Hotel restaurant.
Chef Sven Pärn of Tartu’s Hõlm restaurant and his team collaborated with the French chef Meilleur Ouvrier de France Primeur, Frédéric Jaunault.
The aim was to present an eight-course Franco-Estonian Christmas menu.
The chefs were faced with a double challenge: to create a successful dinner using ingredients available in the Nordic winter, and to do so for 70 guests, including three outstanding colleagues representing their respective chef communities.
This included the Bocuse d’Or presidents of Latvia and Lithuania, as well as the president of the Estonian Association of Chefs.
The event took place at Restaurant Hõlm.
